EARLY MORNING WALK REPORT III

What I'm doing while you're still asleep, typically between the hours of 6:00 and 6:30 AM -- November 28, 2007 to January 2, 2008:

Chieka has pooped at the same tree 5 days in a row. 1st tree on Carl @ Clayton, north side. a new stop for the neighbourhood tour.

Chieka's poop tree reigns supreme, Bug tries to woo Theo (Ewok pup) and fails.

In the world according to Cheika and Bug, Bag Lady Betty is a Minion of the Dark Lord.

I walked the dogs in silver Madrid Birkenstocks with ancient dark green thermal socks. At 5 am, it was my little secret.

Chieka cheated on her poop tree. Bug tried to carry a discarded butter patty home in his mouth (sly style). Bad dog!

All quiet in Cole Valley.

I am a magician. In the rain, my dogs turn into pussies!

Light early morning mist makes for atmospheric walk.

It's a little known fact that if you drive before 6am you can ignore all traffic signs, like "stop." Now you know.

No side effects from Bug repeatedly licking the top of a beer bottle last night. Rain washed away all the good/bad smells.

Dear #38. It's my fault, I wasn't paying attention. I'm so very sorry Bug peed on your morning paper. It's not yellow journalism.

Too late to bed post wedding leads to early morning stumble around the park. The pups don't give rat's ass about my beauty sleep.

Poop tree is blessed, Bug "owns" the ratty olive no cushion couch that's taken up residence at the top of the street.

Sort of freaked out about walking the dogs at 6. A friend of Manny's was mugged at Duboce Park yesterday around this time. Eek! Bug thought he saw something (most likely dreaming of another raccoon adventure) though there was nothing. It's put him off his game.

Was worried about a dark walk this am given a transformer blew up in Cole Valley last night. PG&E worked their magic and all was well It's remarkable how a little dew can amplify all smells into something that must be obeyed. Sniff, sniff, SNIFF!

We've seen Yeti (black lab) almost every day for 6.5+ years. Chieka still thinks he's a Minion of the Dark Lord. Bug was a bad dog.

Short leashes today to avoid yesterday mornings debacle (that will not be recounted). Weather report: looks like it might be clear.

I love that I live in a neighbourhood where I can say hello to three of my neighbours before 6:30 am in the morning.

Not sure what the Chieka hates more, walking in the rain or the towel drying afterwards. Bug, he loves the towel. It's winter in sf!

Chieka had grave concern that the woman waiting for her limo was YAMOS (Yet Another Minion of Satan). But no, just a holiday traveler.

You who bought that Christmas tree on the far left next to the wreaths? I'm sorry about the dog pee.

Our Feline Overlords have installed a new sentinel on the second floor. He/she watched team Chawazek's every move as we exited this AM.

Frost! on the cars in Cole Balley! Baby, it's "cold" outside.... The pups weren't so sure of Bag Lady Betty's early morning serenade. In fact, I'm not so sure. Where's the mute button? Enourmous, glowing moon hung over Marin this morning. Dogs couldn't care less. Philistines!

Walked the pups while most of Cole Valley was snuggled in their beds. Hoping visions of sugar plums were dancing in their heads.

Chieka has declared today "teh suck" and wants nothing to do with it. Bug is happy to go back to bed. Happy Boxing Day!

Not so early walk report (slept in til 8!): Bug was frustrated that he couldn't chases the crows that infest Cole Valley this morning.

Soggy, but not dripping, our walk was brief and bark free.

Bread truck dropped a loaf on way to Burgermeister. Soggy sammich anyone? Otherwise, Bag Lady Betty is greeting the day. Noisily.

[Sonoma]

Pups scamper from Air Stream across wet lawn to see blue sky as roosters crow.

Tiny paw prints dot a frost coated lawn.

Pups wander across frosty lawn past empty an champagne bottle.

A cacophony of crowing roosters accompanies our seemingly absent minded meandering.
