ETIQUETTE BELL I think that I was sitting in a toilet stall at the Incheon International Airport when I noticed the etiquette bell on the wall next to me. My first thought that it was a nifty device that one could use to signal's one's lack of toilet paper. It seem that I'm from a culture that isn't so concerned with those possibly embarrassing sounds that one might encounter while frequenting the ladies room. No, the etiquette bell is something that one can chime or ring (I actually don't know what sound that bell made) when one might be in the grip of some gastric symphony that can accompany normal bodily functions. I wish I'd had the foresight to film the little beauty. What a 10 seconds that would have made. Then again, looks like you can experience an etiquette bell on YouTube. Since then I've thought that I might be better equipped with my own etiquette bell (say stuck on my forehead) that one could ring if they were uncomfortable with the possible embarrassing sounds that one might encounter when conversing with me. 09/25/2007
