AT THE APPLE STORE

I think that it would be safe to say that we had over one hundred people show up for the first Bay Area Photoblogger event at the San Francisco Apple Store last night. Thanks to everyone for coming out.

Market Street Muse is a collection of 100 photographs taken between Van Ness and Montgomery over a three year period (roughly in order of place, not time).

I'm never quite sure what to say about my photographs, so I was going to talk about ten things people have said to me while I was shooting. If memory serves, I only got around to sharing three or four and otherwise went off on a few tangents. So here they are...

"That sucks." Commiserating on the tagging of Market Street Mao.

"Are you with the CIA?" A small, black box (aka pinhole camera) raised a few eyebrows.

"What are you taking photos of?" (I'm squatting down photographing a cigarette butt on the other side of a chain link fence).

"They won't let the Gays into the Strand Theatre." Included in a "brief" history of the Strand Theatre.

"This is the end of Market Street." On the closure of Merrill's Drugs.

"Are you taking a picture of the plastic bag?" While shooting trees at dusk.

"The Metreon sucks." By the former St. Francis Theatre

"You know that window's broken, right?" While shooting a shattered window.

"You can't take photos here." A memorable altercation with Nordstroms' security.

"Can't you find anything better to photograph, you stupid white bitch." First negative experience throughout my travels on Market Street
