NOBODY LIKES TO BE A ZERO Tweaks continue here at hchamp.com as I finally drag my raggedy ass into dealing with the small hinkelbonks that have been driving me bananas. Call me silly, but I'm most excited about the eradication of my life as a zero. Who wants to be reminded that they're unloved? Doesn't "Comment" seem more kind? If you're using Movable Type, you too can banish "Comment (0)" from your life. It's easy. Really. If you're using MT 2.21 or above, download and install MTEntryIfComments. Don't let "install" freak you out. All you need to do is put the file into your plugins directory. If this is your first plugin (congratulations!), you might want to read this first. Once MTEntryIfComments is installed, you'll need to update your templates. Again, very easy, just a matter of adding a new template tag around an existing one. My code before: <MTEntryCommentCount> My code after: <MTEntryIfComments count_greater_than="0"><MTEntryCommentCount></MTEntryIfComments> Voila. You too shall be zero free and when comments are made, counting resumes as normal. 09/28/2004
