Hearts in San Francisco II, Asian Art Museum   [Canon 300D]   send as Ecard   Next: Hearts in San Francisco III, Civic Center Plaza

"On my heart, I used motifs from traditional Chinese paintings. In this case, birds are the subjects. There are numerous bird images throughout Chinese art history, in fact, many other Asian art histories as well. The winged creatures are both beautiful visually and meaningful symbolically. They are like witnesses and messengers from long ago, far away, making connections to us, our time and space." - Hung Liu, Hearts In San Francisco

We incorporated a Crane motif into many aspects of our wedding. Seeing the bird on the side of this heart brought joy to my heart. The Hearts in San Francisco Flickr group continues to grow and I'd like nothing better than to spend the week visiting all the hearts that are being photographed.

I might have the time given that we're not making our annual trek out to the Playa this year. While I have a small twinge of regret, Derek and I have had a very big year with our wedding and my adventures in hyperthyroidism. There's always next year.
