What you don't see in these photographs is that he rotates the sign, spinning it slowly as he walks up and down Market Street. He's very polite and smiles when I photograph him.

There's another fellow who camps out in front of the GAP at Powell and Market. His sign is more about hate and exclusion and feels very out of place in a city where inclusivity is a cornerstone.

My sign for today? "Heather Champ loves you."
