The headstone you might associate with Jim Morrison's Grave has been replaced with something very simple, cordoned off by temporary security fencing and patrolled by attentive gendarmes. It was a little odd to see two young girls huddled together dispassionately chanting "Light My Fire" in low tones -- not at all the scene that I expected.

There is far less graffiti throughout Père Lachaise, though there are instances of vandalism punctuating the graves.
