Beauty and despair, Market Street
[Pinhole]
Zero Image 50mm 4 x 5 pinhole with Polaroid Type 59 film (expired, desaturated), 4 second exposure. I haven't felt well enough until recently to pinhole. It takes a clarity of mind and patience that were lacking in my life as my tyrannical thyroid ran riot. I still don't know if it's too soon to say that I'm in remission, but my energy is back and I'm once again spending more time wandering San Francisco with my cameras. Rachel inspired me to work on a series of pinhole photographs. Photos posted this week weren't in my final selection and represent additional moments in walks from Van Ness to Powell Station. While I understand that photographs of the homeless make some people uncomfortable, I don't feel that any series of photographs of Market Street would be complete without capturing both the beauty and the despair.
